Building Towards What’s Possible

Microtech Labs is dedicating significant effort to internal research and development across advanced materials, propulsion, and related systems. While on-demand FDM manufacturing and prototyping remains active to partners and clients, our long-term mission is focused on research, experimentation, and early-stage technology development. These initiatives are exploratory, self-funded, and developed internally.

Active research areas

Radiation Shielding Materials

Research into advanced material systems designed to mitigate radiation exposure. Current work explores hydrogel materials with integrated organic properties, aiming for lightweight, self-healing, and printable materials. Efforts focus on material behavior, formulation pathways, and manufacturability, supported by modeling and early-stage testing.

Propulsion Systems

Foundational propulsion research centered on physics-based modeling, system architecture, and simulation. Initial efforts focus on liquid propellant engines as a baseline, with modeling and design studies establishing a technical foundation for exploring more advanced propulsion concepts over time.
